For Range Rover Evoque Repairs you need look no further than K Motors, Independent Specialists in Land Rover repairs since 1957.

Since the launch of the Range Rover Evoque it quickly became Land Rovers number one selling vehicle. A sleek, attractive looking off roader that has changed very little from the concept car that was introduced at the 2008 Detroit Motor Show, it is easy to see how it has become so popular. As the Range Rover Evoque was only introduced in 2011, it is only in recent years that they have come out of the warranty period and the wiser owners have started to shun the main dealer prices and bring them to us for servicing and repairs.

As the original Evoque is Based on the Freelander 2 chassis and running gear, we are very familiar with how it works. As well as this knowledge we also have the very latest Autologic diagnostic equipment and technical support to aid in any fault finding. Here we have a list of the more common Range Rover Evoque faults, symptoms and costs* to repair.

Range Rover Evoque Repairs - Replace Timing Chains

The 2.0L diesel Ingenium engine is fitted to vehicles across the Jaguar Land Rover range and timing chain issues are very common. The timing chains stretch over time and if not replaced can cause irreparable engine failure. In November 2019 JLR introduced an upgraded design chain that eliminates this problem. If you hear an engine rattle on start up then this is the sign of wear. We replace all the chains, guides, tensioners etc using genuine parts.
Replace timing chains, guides, tensioners, idlers, seals etc using uprated genuine Land Rover parts.£2141
Range Rover Evoque Repairs - Front Wheel Bearing

A grinding or rumbling noise that gets worse when turning and gets louder the faster you travel often indicates a worn wheel bearing. To check, jack up the wheel and feel for play by rocking the wheel from top to bottom. If you find play here or the wheel feels rough when rotated then the complete hub and bearing assembly needs to be replaced.
Replace front wheel bearing and hub (OEM)£325
Range Rover Evoque Repairs - Door Latch Replacement

As with the Freelander 2, the door latches are prone to failing, you may find that you cannot lock the vehicle or have activated the central locking but you are still able to open one of the doors. As all the parts of the mechanism are in one sealed unit, the complete latch assembly will need replacing.
Replace door latch (Genuine LR)£230
Range Rover Evoque Repairs - Diagnostic Check

If you have any warning lights illuminated on your dash or fault warnings on the display or simply feel that your vehicle isn't running as well as it should be then the first step is to get a full diagnostic report. This will show any faults that the ECU has recorded since it was last cleared.
Full diagnostic health check and report.£60
Range Rover Evoque Repairs - EGR Valve Replacement

The Exhaust Gas Regulator valve recirculates the burnt carbon back into the engine to keep emissions down. Over time a build up of the carbon will prevent the valve from opening and closing properly. Excessive smoke and a loss of power along with the engine management light on the dash are the most common symptoms.
EGR valve replacement (OEM)£689
Range Rover Evoque Repairs - Intercooler Hose

A loss of power and a lot of black smoke from the exhaust is often caused by a split intercooler hose which is a simple repair.
Replace Intercooler hose (Genuine LR)£90
Range Rover Evoque Repairs - Clutch Replacement

A slipping clutch will cause the engine to rev higher while the vehicle does not accelerate as quickly. Another sign that the clutch is failing is that the indicator on the dash which informs of the gear the vehicle is in is slow to react when you change gear.
Replace clutch cover, clutch plate and slave cylinder (OEM)£649
Range Rover Evoque Repairs - Clutch and Dual Mass Flywheel Replacement

A dual mass flywheel absorbs the vibration from the engine and rarely outlasts a clutch, we would always advise replacing both at the same time.
Replace clutch cover, clutch plate, slave cylinder and flywheel (OEM)£1085
Range Rover Evoque Repairs - Front Brake Pad Replacement

If worn out brake pads are spotted early before any damage is caused to the disc then just the pads can be changed. Unlike other Range Rover models the Evoque does not have wear sensors so there is no warning light to come on. It is worthwhile to do visual checks occasionally, if you leave it until you hear the metal on metal sound then you will need to replace the discs as well as they will have been scored by the metal body of the brake pads.
Front brake pads replacement (both sides OEM)£95
Range Rover Evoque Repairs - Front Brake Discs and Pads

If brake pads have worn low and scored the discs then it is advisable to change both for optimum performance. The average life of brake discs is around 32,000 miles, after this they are considered too thin and will have a lip around the edge where just fitting new pads will take too long to bed in and most likely cause a squealing sound each time you apply the brakes.
Front brake discs and pads replacement (Both sides)£205
Range Rover Evoque Repairs - Rear Brake Pad Replacement

If worn out brake pads are spotted early before any damage is caused to the disc then just the pads can be changed. Unlike all the other Range Rover models the Evoque does not have wear sensors so there is no warning light to come on. Also the brake calipers are electronic so it requires diagnostic equipment to operate them and retract the pistons allowing the rear pads to be changed. It is worthwhile to do visual checks occasionally, if you leave it until you hear the metal on metal sound then you will need to replace the discs as well.
Rear brake pads replacement (both sides OEM)£95

Range Rover Evoque Repairs - Handbrake Shoes
Screeching or locked rear wheels can be caused by the handbrake shoes collapsing, meaning either the contact material has come away from the metal shoe and jammed or one of the mechanisms has broken causing them to lock up. Sometimes this can cause damage to the discs which means they will also need to be replaced.
Handbrake shoe replacement (both sides OEM)£205
Handbrake shoes, discs and pads replacement (both sides OEM)£375
